Website Publishing Checklist

checklist1

Designing and building a website involves a lot of work, and a lot of steps are taken to ensure that the design is as good as it can be as well as making sure it is standards compliant before launching. But what about all those little steps that are necessary right at the moment before launching a site? Things such as ensuring the favicon is set and that 404 pages are styled consistently with the rest of the site can be neglected in the rush to style and code the main pages, but this handy checklist which appeared on Smashing Magazine by Lee Munroe lists a number of last minute checks which should be carried out before launching a site.

It covers a wide variety of things which need checked and confirmed before launching a site to the world, and I will definitely be consulting this list before I launch my next site. Some of the little things can often be missed out and I’m often guilty of these things as I get a bit too carried away with the excitement of designing and launching a site that the so called little things can be missed.

I’ll be consulting this list the next time I come to launch a site.
